Shadle Smiles Restortion Dentistry

You are most likely familiar with the traditional methods of restoring missing teeth, partial dentures, and dental bridges. These are not the only restorative dentistry options, however. Shadle Smiles also offers dental implants. This is a sensible option when only one tooth is missing, and it is also highly recommended when more teeth need to be replaced.

Dental implants look and feel like your natural teeth. They are the more comfortable option for replacing missing teeth and are aesthetically superior to other methods. Dental implants provide many benefits, which have placed them in the position of becoming the new gold standard for replacement of missing teeth.

Traditional dentures and dental bridges still offer suitable replacement value, however, the aesthetic difference between traditional and dental implant restorations is significant. Dental implants are much less noticeable as artificial teeth because of how they are constructed and placed. As a single tooth replacement, the dental implant stands alone and looks nearly identical to a natural tooth.

Excellence in Implant Dentistry

Placing a dental implant requires precision and skill. At Shadle Smiles, our dentists have the training and experience to perform successful dental implant placement. Special equipment is used to ensure the implant is placed in the correct position. Deviation from the precise placement target could lead to failure of the implant at a later date. Our dentists ensure your implant is placed correctly so you can have years of beautiful, natural looking service.

The Implant Procedure

The dental implant procedure is accomplished in phases. After a thorough examination of the implant site to ensure the health of the bone, the first phase of the process begins with a minor surgery to place the implant into the jawbone. A small, screw-like titanium post is inserted into the bone. Over time, the bone fuses to the post. This can take from three to six months, depending on the overall health of the patient.

After the implant and bone have healed and fused sufficiently, an abutment piece is added to the implant post, and the surrounding gum tissue is prepared. After this step, a crown is seated on the abutment piece. The crown looks and feels like a natural tooth.

Dental implants are used to replace a single tooth, create a dental bridge or secure partial or full dentures. Shadle Smiles offers excellent dental implant dentistry for replacement of missing teeth. Contact our dental practice today, and schedule a consultation appointment to find out if you are a good candidate for dental implants.
